Emily Russell is a native of Winter Park and an alum of both Winter Park High School and Rollins College; her family moved to the area generations ago, when her grandfather was stationed at the Navy Base in what is now Baldwin Park.
Emily studied Stage Management and Technical Theatre at Rollins, and in 2009 she relocated to Dallas, TX, where she opened the AT&T Performing Arts Center with the Dallas Opera. She returned to Winter Park and continued her Stage and Production Management work with arts and non-profit organizations such as the Dr. Phillips Center, Mad Cow Theatre, National Young Composers Challenge, Park Maitland School, and finally took up residence as the Production Manager and Director of Operations for the Garden Theatre in 2012. A longtime technology enthusiast, she joined the world of software development in 2016 and is now the Vice President of Project Management for a software engineering firm in Winter Park.
Emily’s love of non-profit and her hometown have brought her to the Winter Park Land Trust. In her free time, she remains actively involved with many non-profit organizations in the area and is thrilled to be able to contribute to the cause of increasing green space in a place so near and dear to her heart.
